Wellness Retreat Specialist Team
Welcome to the wellness Retreat Dream Team! Each of these wonderful professionals have been handpicked to provide the most comfortable, welcoming and insightful programming for our retreats.
Renee Joslin, Thrive Psychology
For the past 10 years I have worked as a psychologist. Before that I spent 18 years in Education working as a special education teacher, school counselor and behavior consultant. I have experience in both health care and private practice and recently left healthcare to focus on supporting youth and adults with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns in my private practice. I also teach part time at Red Deer College in the Educational Assistant Certificate program and have been there for 6 years. Renee’s goal is to help clients thrive in their life and uses various modalities to help them achieve more overall wellness. She specializes in depression and anxiety and uses CBT, mindfulness, positive psychology and other therapies to help clients achieve their goals. She loves supporting clients in a collaborative approach and has been told that her “down to earth” manner puts people at ease.
Tanya Galey, Cultivating Harmony
I have been practicing Yoga for more than 20 years, enjoying improved flexibility, core strength, balance, posture and inner poise as a result.
In 2019, I deepened my personal practice by taking Yoga Teacher Training with the South Okanagan Yoga Academy (SOYA).
In my training, I learned aspects of Yoga that were new to me, including history, philosophy and anatomy. I also learned how to teach various practices associated with Yoga, including meditation, prayer and breathing techniques.
Through this training, I felt the threads of my life’s work, experiences, and passions weaving themselves into one central purpose—to cultivate harmony in the world by teaching Yoga philosophy, practices and principles. As a former Social Worker, my value for social well-being is foundational to my teaching methods, workshop topics and special events; at Cultivating Harmony, yoga is both a community-building practice and a path to self-connection, balance and wellness.
